The legal context, briefly
The eIDAS regulation (which also applies in Romania) recognizes three levels of electronic signature: simple, advanced and qualified. Each level carries different legal weight, and the right choice depends on what you're signing.
The three levels
- Simple: an acceptance click or a drawn signature. Fast, but easy to dispute.
- Advanced (AES): cryptographically tied to the signer and the document (this is the PAdES signature you use in Voltzzflow). Sufficient for most commercial contracts.
- Qualified (QES): requires a certificate issued by an accredited provider and a dedicated device. Legally equivalent to a handwritten signature in every situation, usually required for notarial acts or public institutions.
What you actually choose in practice
For collaboration contracts, signed offers, delivery reports, an advanced signature (AES) is enough and far faster than waiting for a physical document to arrive by courier.
The real question isn't "is it legal or not", it's "how easily can you prove in court that the signer is who they say they are".
Bottom line
For the vast majority of business contracts, an advanced digital signature meets the legal requirement and completely removes the trip to the post office. You can turn it on anytime with the Pro plan.
